Keith Prince banned the flying of the Gay Pride flag. This was a wonderful piece of *gesture* politics. It was free, it got ‘good’ PR and his supporters liked it. Gay Pride activists climbed onto the Town Hall roof and flew the flag anyway. One unexpected consequence is that it reveals serious weaknesses in the supposed protection that CCTV provides.

Politics in Havering 
Firstly, the “banned flag” wasn’t a gay pride flag it was the “Progressive” LGBTQI+ flag which includes a far more diverse range of sexual preferences. This controversial flag has never been approved by full council. Its controversial due to growing high court legal disputes between the “Ls” and the “Ts”.
Secondly, its wasn’t banned this year as the council constitution has never allowed it to be flown in the first place, as the constitution doesn’t allow controversial flags to be flown without full council authority.
Due to political expediency council leaders Damian White and Ray Morgon allowed it to be flown and dormant councillors never objected to the constitution being ignored and no one would put forward a motion to regularise the matter.
So, Reform has upheld the constitution and if Labour and Havering Aligned RA councillors want the council to celebrate diverse sexual preferences they need to submit a motion to council accordingly. Will they do it and or mention their town hall protest in their newsletters?

This is very informative and interesting. Prince was apparently instructed to *ban* the Gay Pride flag (that’s a shorthand for convenience). It was mainly posturing to get free PR and to show Reform voters that they had an identity.

Cllr Prince said he wasn’t against flying it, but it was national policy not to. Flag flying can be very significant and contentious hence why the constitution is quite clear on the matter. The flag is promoted extensively by the State for nefarious reasons. What happened to live and let live based on English fair play?
But flying a “gay pride flag” isn’t about gay pride, the “gay pride flag” is the battle standard of the Western (Globalist) Military Alliance. The Globalists want to wage war on traditional societies and use gay rights as the humanitarian pretext for doing so, conveniently ignoring the fact that sanctions and bombing kills everyone, including gays. A genuine humanitarian interest would involve diplomacy and negotiations.
Whether Reform agree or its just a case of promoting assimilation by flying only one national flag rather than many diverse flags, I don’t know, but nevertheless it is a welcome brake on the Globalist agenda, which is presently promoting war with traditional orthodox christian Russia.

It seems a bit of a stretch from *Gay Pride* to a Globalist Agenda. I think it is just a bit of posturing and pressure group politics.

One one hand, it’s all trivia; all the big relevant questions about Havering council remain and I don’t get the impression that anyone is any nearer answering them. But sometimes trivia is revealing.
First off- how far is all this CCTV an expensive bit of homeopathy? (It was certianly no use when my bike was stolen a few years ago, and those in charge of the systems in many places don’t seem to have realised that you don’t have to sit through the whole eight hours of footage to identify the key images.)
But also- it feels symbolic of Havering changing, and the discomfort some people feel as a result. I suspect that it wouldn’t have been that long ago that No Pride would have been an uncontroversial position to take on the streets of Romford- Brighton’s down that way, mate. But now you have people like David Taylor (who I’m glad to see hasn’t gone to ground) having quite nuanced thoughts on the issue.

Councillors are wedded to the idea that CCTV is *essential*. This is a fairy tale. There is no evidence that crimes are fewer. As a consequence they believe that the mere presence of CCTV is enough. It’s a bit like a comfort rag for a very young child. They cling on to it.
